Classification: Program/Service Coordinator – PSC3 Team Leader Operational Support – Salary Grade Band F

Qualified Level Salary Range:  $54,650 – $60,724 – $66,796

Advanced Qualification Salary Range: $61,755 – $68,618 – $75,479

Position Objective:

Under the direction of the Dean of Post-Secondary Education, the Programs Coordinator – Health and Wellness ensures lifelong learning programs of Kenjgewin Teg designed for health professionals include Anishinaabe traditional knowledge and are delivered in accordance with the organization’s quality assurance standards and procedures.  As a critical position supporting growth of Kenjgewin Teg as an Indigenous Institute in Ontario, appreciation and/or practice of Kendmoowin – Anishnabemowin miinwaa Anishnaabe bmaadziwin in health and wellness perspectives is critical.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Diploma within the health and wellness sector, or proven work-related experience in a coordinator capacity
  • Minimum of two years of program coordination experience
  • Program management and/or program budget planning experience
  • High level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of software;
  • Preference given to applicants demonstrating Anishinabek traditional knowledge; Kendmoowin – Anishnabemowin miinwaa Anishnaabe bmaadziwin.

Job Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of First Nation health and wellness perspectives of Mnidoo Mnising and the Anishinabek Nation.
  • Appreciation and/or practice of traditional knowledge; appreciation and/or practice: Kendmoowin – Anishnabemowin miinwaa Anishnaabe bmaadziwin.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed individual capable of multi-tasking; able to work both in teams and as a self-starter; ability to work independently as needed with minimal supervision.
  • Self-initiative, well-defined diplomacy, and time management skills.
  • Excellent coordination skills for delivery of health and wellness programs.
  • Able to build and maintain good relationships across Lifelong Learning teams, Corporate Services teams, and Quality Assurance teams of the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising and communicating with external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and problem identification and resolution skills relating to delivery of health and wellness programs.
  • Conflict resolution and people management skills.
  • Adaptable, strong work ethic and contributor to positive team attitude.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, tactfulness in multi-dimensional work or other environments
